Howdy everyone, Im excited to announce that I will be working on a new section of the website, allowing users to be more interactive by means of an instant estimate program, along with other ideas to come. I will also be adding more pages to improve customer awareness, including the design process, taking you through step by step of how the transaction will work for creation of your new website. This should improve customer satisfaction as well as invoke more people to take up services with z hines web design. I may also add a new testimonials program, to enhance the trust/look of my site and also for some php/mysql practice! Ive decided that instead of only having my home page with links as web design chicago, Im going to add a developer page for web development. It seems like a good idea since I want to target web site development but I don’t want to target the home page with both categories. Supposedly this helps ranking potential and Plus adds more pages to your website.
Ive been doing web design work with ciakronik on a new project for Dr Green-thumb. It is a new landscaping company based out of the south Chicago suburbs. They do all your landscaping needs such as mowing, retaining walls, hedging, stone, etc. Basically anything you can think of! Ill be putting together a CMS utilizing the latest wordpress along with a sick design from the cia. The results should be interesting!
Things are going great with the book “PHP and MySQL Web Development” by Luke Welling and Laura Thomson. It is truly a great book, they have great examples and is easily understandable while explaining everything in full detail. The first thing I did is made a script to process and order form. It is great the way they explain everything and you can tell that these guys really know what they are doing. The first chapter explains basic syntax but not only that, it does that while taking you through the example (processing a form). They really do a nice job of keeping you on track with the example while teaching you the basics. I cant wait to keep going and learn more and more, which I am going to do right now! Enjoy
Content management systems are a great way to maintain a website at a low cost. Once you have a CMS set up with desired design virtually you don’t have to spend anymore money on updates and maintenance. If done correctly you can specify different layouts for different pages through a user friendly interface. Web Design Chicago is a great way to get the job done!

PHP and MySQL Web Development, by Luke Welling and Laura Thomson seems like a really good book on PHP. If you have ever tried the Peachpit Press books (the ones with the goofy colors and rabbit on the front), they are nice but they use a lot of basic syntax with very simple examples. In this book they make a point NOT to do that. The examples are real life situations and the book starts off jumping right into a order processing form. I compared it to one of the Peachpit Press books and there is a huge difference. I highly suggest paying the extra $20 and getting a book more like this one. It covers a lot more subjects on e-commerce and CMS. Im very excited to get into this book even the first example in the book looks awesome!
Gurubooking.com is a travel agency dedicated to getting you lower rates and giving you the 411 on each deal. It has been a fun project to work on so far, I have gotten the chance to dig into PHP and that is what its all about! What I always say, you learn fastest when you are put into a sink or swim situation (that is if u can swim). For me I love to receive a problem, look for the answer, and apply it to a real life website. Reading stuff out of a textbook or receiving instructions from a teacher, seeing it on a chalkboard just isn’t good enough. Get your hands dirty!
