Web Site Review: Fast Eddie’s Diner
This is a review for Fast Eddie’s Diner in Hampton. The diner has the classic ’50s look but I wasn’t sure how that would translate to cyberspace. The site design is good. It has some elements of design taken from the 1950s but it also has a Jetsons’ space look, which has a ’60s feel to it.
The site navigation is great. Everything is easy to find and information is abundant. There is a menu online but Fast Eddie went the extra mile to provide the menu on the Web page and he included a PDF file that you can print and do as you will.
There is a slick directions page that is tied into Google maps. Just type in the address you are coming from and like magic custom directions are generated that guide you to Eddie’s front door.
The contact page gave me a chuckle when I read that if you want to reach someone at the restaurant, pick up the phone and call. Very old school. They have an email and feedback.
The site has a nice photo gallery too. There are pictures of the food and restaraunt. However, Eddie needs to be careful with food photography. Taking pictures of food can be delicate; sometimes a delicious meal doesn’t look as good in a picture.
